You Have Probably Never Hired A Photographer Before, And There Is No Reason You Would Know How It Works.

So Here It Is

You send me your date and venue, I tell you the same day whether I am free and what it costs, and that is the price. I have photographed enough weddings around Cambridge that I have very likely worked at your venue already, and anything you want to ask between now and the day, just ask.

On The Day

The Easy Part Of The Planning

By the time you get to photography you have already made a hundred decisions. This one should not feel like another.

You will get an answer the same day, a price that does not move, and somebody easy to have around once the day comes. Quiet during the ceremony, quick with the family photographs, and gone from your mind by the evening. Have a look at how a few recent weddings turned out.

Coverage

Two Ways To Cover Your Day

Whichever you choose, every photograph worth keeping is edited and yours in a private gallery. Nothing watermarked, nothing charged per image. Neither package is fixed either, so if your day looks nothing like the two below, tell me what you have in mind and I will price it around you.

Richard was the best photographer we have ever come across and we are so grateful he was available for our wedding. His kind and relaxed nature means he is able to capture the most intimate and beautiful photos.

ElizabethTrinity College Chapel

Neither of us particularly enjoys being in front of the camera, but Richard made us feel completely comfortable and relaxed, which really shows in the photographs. We will treasure these for a lifetime.

MelPoets House, Ely

Professional, kind and patient. His service really does go the extra mile and he knows what he wants from his surroundings, which ultimately captured photos that are so intimate and special to us.

TobyGranary Estates, Newmarket

We couldn't ask for a better photographer. He was punctual, friendly and professional. We felt at ease and he captured all the key moments. The photos were out very promptly, before we even expected them.

BelindaSt Hugh of Lincoln, Letchworth

Having spent some time looking for a photographer who could capture a very small wedding party at a reasonable price, I was so glad I chose Richard. He was extremely polite and efficient, and very relaxed and friendly, so everyone felt at ease.

EstelleA small wedding party

Communication before the day was great and Richard's presence during the day was very pleasant. He made a really amazing report of the entire day and we are so happy we have the great quality photos to look back to.

Questions

Things Couples Ask Before They Book

If yours is not here, ask it. Nothing is a daft question and I would rather you asked now than wondered.

How far in advance should we book?
As early as you can. Saturdays between May and October tend to go twelve to eighteen months ahead, though last minute is always worth asking about since dates do come free.
How would you describe your style?
Documentary, with relaxed portraits alongside it. Real moments rather than arranged ones, and photographs that look like the day you actually had.
How many photographs do we get?
Enough that you will not get through them in one sitting. You receive every frame that meets my standard, with no filler and nothing charged per image.
How quickly do we get them?
Your full edited gallery arrives within seven days by private link, with full-resolution downloads included.
Do you travel outside Cambridge?
Yes, all the time. Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Hertfordshire and further when it suits. Send me the venue and I'll tell you what it comes to, all in, so there are no surprises later.
What happens if the weather turns?
Overcast light is kinder than bright sun and some of my favourite photographs have come out of miserable afternoons. I shoot in whatever the day gives us.
Do we own the photographs?
You get full personal usage rights with every option. I retain copyright, which is standard practice.
What does booking involve?
I send you a short agreement setting out what is covered, and a small amount up front holds the date. The rest is settled a fortnight before the wedding.
What if a camera fails on the day?
I carry a second camera and spares of everything that matters, and your photographs are copied to more than one place the same night, so nothing rests on a single card.
Are you insured?
Yes, public liability and professional indemnity. Most venues ask to see the certificate and I send it across without being chased.
